Kénédougou/SONATUR: 1,187 plots put up for sale in Orodara, Garango and Tougan

The Minister of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing, Mikaïlou Sidibé, on Monday March 25, 2024 in Orodara, officially launched the marketing campaign for serviced plots of the Garango sites, of Orodara and Tougan.

The National Urban Land Development Company (SONATUR) has made 1,187 serviced plots available to the populations of Garango, Orodara and Tougan.

The marketing campaign for the said plots was launched by the Minister of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing, Mikaïlou Sidibé, on Monday March 25, 2024, in the orchard city.

According to the Director General (DG) of SONATUR, Boureima Ouattara, this government desire to offer serviced plots to rural populations is in line with the new law on real estate development promulgated on July 3, 2023 by the head of the State, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

According to him, it was by ministerial decree that SONATUR acquired the Garango site, with an area of 70 ha in 2005, the Orodara site with an area of 102 ha in 2008 and that of Tougan with an area of surf
ace area 120 ha in 2010.

‘Marketing began respectively in 2008 in Garango, in 2013 in Tougan and in Orodara in January 2021,’ he suggested.

For the DG, this ceremony to relaunch the marketing of plots in these localities is the crowning of a commitment made by SONATUR in favor of the populations of urban communes for the satisfaction of their needs in terms of serviced and secure plots.

‘It is part of the overall framework of viability and socio-economic development of our cities,’ added Boureima Ouattara.

To listen to him, these completed sales of plots are the culmination of a long process which required the involvement and goodwill of all stakeholders.

Thus, he reiterated his thanks to the administrative, customary and religious authorities for their multifaceted contributions to the acquisition of these sites and their support for the results achieved.

The first manager of SONATUR took the opportunity to announce that as part of the implementation of its social responsibility policy, his structure p
lans to make achievements on behalf of the urban municipality of Orodara.

This concerns in particular the renovation of the High Commission building with a view to providing the occupants of the premises and the populations with the necessary comfort and support for local authorities in the care of internally displaced persons (IDPs) through a donation of food.

This donation, consisting of 200 25 kg bags of rice, 200 25 kg bags of flour and 104 boxes of soap, was given to the beneficiaries immediately.

‘In the commune of Garango, SONATUR will also take charge of the repair and enclosure of a ‘Bissongo’ and a nursery school and will donate food to the IDPs,’ he said.

According to the Director General of SONATUR, the total cost of all these actions in the cities amounts to 35 million FCFA.

He invited buyers of these plots of the various sites concerned to redouble their efforts to develop their land.

As for the Minister in charge of town planning, Mikaïlou Sidibé, he explained that the State’s desire to m
ake plots available to the populations of the country’s urban communes is in line with the government’s policy oriented towards the construction of decent housing.

For him, the enthusiasm generated around each operation launched by SONATUR tests to the pressing needs of the Burkinabè in terms of plots and housing.

Thus, he invited the national land development agency to fully play its part in order to support the Government in the new vision, as desired by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to be made available to the populations. in Burkina Faso, serviced plots.

Finally, Minister Mikailou Sidibé gave the brushstroke marking the launch of the renovation work at the Orodara High Commission.
