Several activities including a popular cross country, a public conference on civics and a blood donation session were on the program for this first edition.

The town of N’Dorola has a new festival. The first edition, called ‘Faso Couleurs Festival’, was organized on Saturday January 20, 2024 in N’Dorola in the province of Kénédougou.

It is an initiative of the N’Dorola Workers’ Association, in partnership with the local youth.

According to the festival spokesperson, Sibiri Dieudonné Ouédraogo, several activities were on the program for this first edition.

This is a popular cross in the national colors (Editor’s note: the majority of walkers wearing a Burkina Faso jersey), a conference on civics in schools, on Saturday January 20 and an operation blood donation, Friday January 26.

According to Sibiri Dieudonné Ouédraogo, this festival is a way for organizers and f
estival-goers to demonstrate their patriotism.

‘Whatever our differences, we are all from the same country, Burkina Faso, and we will always have to fight for our country,’ he said.

While thanking the populations of N’Dorola for their mobilization, Mr. Ouédraogo suggested that the results of the first edition are satisfactory.

‘There was a lot of enthusiasm for all the activities of the festival,’ he said.

The blood donation operation marked the apotheosis of the event. 200 bags of blood were collected by a team from the Hauts-Bassins Regional Blood Transfusion Center (CRTS), in order to participate in the care of the wounded at the front.

The donors included, among others, students, Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and civilian servants.

According to Sibiri Dieudonné Ouédraogo, the CRTS team was overwhelmed.

‘There are donors who were unable to give due to lack of funds,’ he said
