Indeed, the heavy rain recorded during the night of Sunday July 28 to Monday July 29, 2024 caused the destruction of the Badara bridge and various damages.
The destruction of this structure impacted the road network.
No passage of two- or four-wheeled vehicles is possible at these times.
The President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Kourinion, Ouroudjin Hema, reached by telephone, said that the CSPS, the pharmaceutical depot, the midwife’s house and the maternity ward also had damage.
He specified that it was especially maternity that was strongly affected.
The PDS also indicated that houses collapsed.
For
the moment, he said, the victims were invited to go to the Idrissa Compaoré private school complex in Badara for shelter.
Faced with the situation, the provincial management in charge of Kénédougou infrastructure has reassured users of the RN8 that the necessary arrangements are being made with the support of the EKS company to mark the portion concerned in order to avoid possible inconveniences. while waiting to be able to reconstruct the access embankment to the structure.
‘If it takes a long time, we will therefore develop the Toussiana-Kourinion section to make it more passable, to serve as a detour,’ she indicated.
The high commissioner of the province of Kénédougou, Saïdou Sakira, invited the populations falling within his territorial jurisdiction in general and particularly users of the RN8, to observe the great caution that befits.
In addition, he invited all those who wish to take this section to reach Bobo-Dioulasso or in the opposite direction to go via the Toussiana road or that of Bérégadougo
