Ioba: The government grants 560 tonnes of seeds, 480 tonnes of fertilizer and tractors to producers

The Provincial Director in charge of Agriculture of Ioba, Léandre Dabiré, announced on June 3, 2024, ‘considerable support’ for producers by the government with 560 tons of seeds 480 tons of mineral fertilizers and tractors.

On Monday June 3, 2024, at the end of the raising of the colors, the Provincial Director in charge of Agriculture of Ioba, announced the considerable support from the government that his management has benefited this year for producers.

This involves more than 560 tonnes of seeds and more than 480 tonnes of mineral fertilizers to boost agricultural production, noted Mr. Dabiré.

Five municipalities out of the eight in the province have already received their tractors following the commitment of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

The other three municipalities will soon receive their tractors, he continued.

DPARAH agents from Ioba will exploit a ‘MARAH field’ with an area of approximately 10 hectares to set a good example.

In each commune, 30 hectares of lowlands will be d
eveloped for rice production, added the director.

‘We too are VDPs for food and nutritional security to achieve the objectives of food sovereignty,’ underlined Léandre Dabiré.

He mentioned State support measures to also improve animal production.

The high commissioner of Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo / Sermé welcomed everything that the government has undertaken for the benefit of producers.

The agro-pastoral offensive is underway, she declared. She maintains that in view of the implementation of the presidential initiative, food self-sufficiency will be a reality because it is supported by each development actor.

Agricultural services need everyone’s support to succeed in this noble mission. She thanked the landowners and customary authorities for agreeing to support the initiative.

Ms. Adenyo wished a good agricultural campaign to producers and fisheries and a good session of school exams to all candidates in the Ioba province.
