Ioba: The ‘Dakolé A’ school wins the trophy in the football final in the CEB of Dano

The football final marked the apotheosis of the sporting and cultural activities of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Dano with the victory of the ‘Dakolé A’ school, on Saturday 18 May 2024 in Dano.

The closing of sporting and cultural activities in the Basic Education District (CEB) of Dano took place for 48 hours. The educational community, students, parents and customary and municipal authorities were strongly mobilized to close these activities.

The cultural competitions were held on Friday May 17, 2024 at the Dano Women’s Museum. The schools competed in archery, drama, recital, folk choir and traditional dagara dance.

The apotheosis of this edition was the football final on the field of the ‘Dakolé A’ school in Dano. The match in this final pitted the school of ‘Yabogane’ against that of ‘Dakolé A’. At the end of regulation time, the score was zero goals everywhere. At the end of the penalty shootout, ”Dakolé A” won the victory with a score of 3 goals to 1.

She won a set of jerseys, a ball, the
sum of 25,000 FCFA and the trophy. The four best teams were all awarded prizes in football. In the cultural and athletics competitions, the first three schools per discipline each received a prize.

This year’s activities were under the theme: ‘Sport, culture and leisure, factors of social cohesion and resilience between communities’. These activities are overseen by the activities of the organization of sport, culture and leisure in primary schools (OSCLEP) in the CEB of Dano.

The Dano canton chief, Naonfa 2, offered blessings for the peaceful conduct of the final. He congratulated all the actors for their hard work. He reiterated his thanks to the head of the CEB (C.CEB) of Dano, Romaric Somé, for his commitment to the cultural awakening of children.

The representative of the sponsor, Nouonta Dabiré, welcomed the remarkable participation of schools in the various competitions. ‘Children are the future of the country. This is why they need to be supported to flourish,’ he continued. According to him, the p
romoter, Aly Maïga, does not hesitate to support the CEB of Dano for social cohesion.

For the C.CEB of Dano, Romaric Somé, thanks to the resilience of the teachers and particularly the organizing committee, the difficulties encountered during this edition were overcome.

He noted that the cultural days provided the opportunity to encourage the ‘one school, one cultural troupe’ initiative for the 2024-2025 school year.

He thanked the special delegation from the municipality of Dano which offered to support the initiative, according to its possibilities. He reiterated his thanks to all those who contributed to the success of these events. ‘They understood that investing in children means saving,’ he said.

For him, creating a framework for expression and development for children is a duty for educators.

The PDS of the commune of Dano, Denis Zanré, said that culture is a sure value that must be instilled in younger generations. For him, succession is assured because the children have a lot of potential. ‘It i
s with great honor and satisfaction that we committed to supporting the CEB of Dano in the activities of OSCLEP,’ he maintained.

As part of strengthening the patriotic fiber, the special delegation will accompany schools with the national colors at the start of the next school year, said Mr. Zanré.

He congratulated the C.CEB and all the teaching staff for this successful organization.

A curtain-raising match between school principals and their deputies marked the start of the closing ceremony. The victory went to the school directors with a score of two goals to zero.
