Ioba: Gnindjounté Kambiré at the head of the provincial environment directorate

Dano, The High Commissioner of Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo née Sermé officially installed the new provincial director of the environment (DPE) of Ioba, Gnindjounté Kambiré on Thursday October 19, 2023 in Dano.

The meeting room of the Dano High Commission was crowded on the occasion of the handover ceremony between the incoming and outgoing provincial directors of the Ioba environment.

The water and forest inspector, Gnindjounté Kambiré was appointed head of the provincial environment directorate at the council of ministers on Wednesday October 4, 2023.

Addressing the assembly just after its installation, the new DPE recalled that according to the texts, natural resources are part of the State’s heritage.

But Mr. Kambiré believes that these natural resources are first and foremost for the populations who are close to them. They depend on them daily because they live on these resources.

“We therefore have a duty to preserve, protect and restore them in order to pass them on to future generations,” he maintained.

This is why the DPE invited everyone to use natural resources in compliance with current legislation.

From the partners, he asked for a synergy of actions to preserve biodiversity and save the environment.

Gnindjounté Kambiré hoped that local authorities would fully play their part in the fight to safeguard the environment.

He invited Ioba water and forestry officials to listen to the populations. They must protect, respect and support the populations, adds the new director.

Mr. Kambiré places pride of place on teamwork to achieve these objectives.

His predecessor, Sami Dabiré spent 04 years 01 months at the head of the provincial environment directorate of Ioba.

Mr. Dabiré took up service in Kongounsi where he was appointed provincial director of the environment for the province of Bam.

The DPE left thanked the provincial authorities, the members of the association of directors and heads of services of Ioba and all the partners for the good collaboration and their support.

He stressed that this contributed to the achievement of the objectives.

Sami Dabiré praised the commitment of his colleagues and invited them to remain mobilized to meet security and environmental challenges under the direction of the DPE.

The representative of the water and forestry staff of the Ioba province, Amado Tiendrébéogo and the president of the association of directors and heads of services of Ioba, Joël Dinaba all appreciated the work done by the outgoing DPE Sami Dabiré.

They welcomed Gnindjounté Kambiré, DPE entered, into the new family in Ioba.

As for the regional director of the environment of the South-West, Ismaël Rouamba, he recalled that the priority of the new DPE is the security challenge to be met.

“Water and forestry agents are involved in the reconquest of the territory with the other defense and security forces (FDS)” he indicated.

He thanked the outgoing DPE for the mission well accomplished in Ioba. The High Commissioner of Ioba province, Bernadette Adenyo/Sermé said she was satisfied with the results achieved by the DPE released.

She congratulated the entire provincial water and forests team for the fight against certain illicit practices and their contribution to improving the security context.

She welcomed the DPE who entered. Ms. Adenyo said that Ioba province is accessible and very liveable and it must remain that way.

This is due to the combined effort of all the FDS, she declared. She invited the new DPE to collaborate well with the populations, especially those living near the forests, before providing them with guidance and advice.

“The job of environmental services is to ensure that life can continue on this earth,” she concluded.

The DPE released, Sami Dabiré received gifts from collaborators, partners and parents of the Ioba province.
