The Action Diaspora Dano (ADD) association offered food to the Nutritional Recovery and Education Center (CREN) of the CMA of Dano, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, for the benefit of malnourished children in the province of Ioba.

The donation was presided over by the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dano, Denis Zanré, in the presence of the beneficiaries. According to the coordinator of the Action Diaspora Dano, Batamaka Somé, this donation is composed of 5 tons of rice, 50 kilograms of fish, beans, small millet, corn, oil and a thousand balls of soumbala.

Batamaka Somé welcomed the initiative of the health workers of the CREN of the Medical Center with Surgical Antenna (CMA) of Dano, aimed at remedying the food insufficiency of malnourished children interned and their mothers. He explained that the ADD was asked to make a modest contribution to support these children and their companions.

re full of various foodstuffs

“Our motivation comes from the fact that children are the future of our country. We do not know which of them will perhaps one day save us from a difficult situation,” said Mr. Somé. He added that their plea was favorably received by some goodwill and structures, such as the reception commission for the management of donations of the presidency, which made it possible to organize this donation of food to the CREN of Dano.

‘The donors wish that these supplies be used for the children and their mothers, and we trust you to fulfill this wish. We hope that this will reduce your stress and allow you to devote yourself fully to the treatment of these children,’ he addressed to the CREN staff.

The ADD coordinator officially handed over a sample of the food to the PDS of the commune of Dano, who then entrusted them to the doctor in charge of the CMA of Dano, Dr Palinguéwindé Renaud Dayaissé, for the feeding of malnourished children interned at the CREN.

of donors

The head of the commune of Dano stressed that this gesture by the ADD demonstrates the attachment of members of the diaspora to their locality. For him, it is a mark of fraternity, solidarity and love towards citizens in difficult situations. Denis Zanré thanked the ADD for this patriotic act and congratulated the health workers for their commitment to the sick.

“I urge the mothers of malnourished children to scrupulously follow the instructions of the health personnel to get out of this situation, because a community without children is a community without a future,” he concluded.

The doctor in charge of the CMA of Dano was delighted to receive these supplies. According to Dr Palinguéwindé Renaud Dayaissé, the province of Ioba records the most cases of malnutrition in the South-West region.

The Dano CREN can receive 40 children per month. ‘Severe acute malnutrition is linked to a nutrient deficiency. In the first half of this year, we noted a dropout rate of 4.4%. An analysis allowed us to unde
rstand that this is due to a lack of food to support the mothers of malnourished children.

This donation of diversified food will provide relief to malnourished mothers and children. This is why I thank the members of the ADD for their generous support. I reassure them about the effective use of this food,” said Dr. Dayaissé.

He took this opportunity to launch an appeal for volunteers to obtain a replacement of the worn-out mattresses in the pediatrics and CREN of the CMA in Dano.

For Christelle Somda and Amsétou Barry, mothers of malnourished children, this donation from the ADD will undoubtedly save the lives of their children and accelerate their recovery. They expressed their gratitude to the donors, the municipal authorities, the members of the ADD and the health workers of the CMA of Dano.
