Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè Minister in charge of the Digital Economy, Amina Zerbo Sabané, indicated Wednesday in Bamako that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) make it possible to increase the social resilience of populations.
‘ICTs reduce the psychosis and distress of our populations, whether they are in red or green zones,’ declared the Minister in charge of the Digital Economy, Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, during the 2nd edition of the Week digital technology in Mali.
The minister spoke from Bamako in Mali where she shared the vision of Burkina Faso on the theme: ‘ICT as a factor of resilience in the face of the multifaceted crisis in the Sahel, opportunity and challenges.’
According to Ms. Zerbo, digital technology contributes to social resilience by enabling access to education through e-learning, facilitating financial transactions through mobile payment and providing platforms for remote health services.
In addition, new technologies strengthen social cohesion and improve the quality of life
of populations, even in the most remote areas or in areas with high security challenges, added the Minister in charge of the Digital Economy.
