The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté, visited the premises of the Western regional management of Editions Sidwaya, on Thursday March 21, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. The first manager of the region learned about the working conditions of the agents and encouraged them for the work they had done.

The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté was the guest of the editorial staff of the Western regional direction of Sidwaya editions in Bobo-Dioulasso on Thursday March 21, 2024.

After her interview of more than an hour with journalists from the Bobo editorial office, the governor visited the management premises, in particular the printing press facilities.

In this ‘factory’ for manufacturing the ‘journal de Tous les Burkinabè’, Mariama Konaté received explanations on the different stages of manufacturing Sidwaya products.

Amazed by the titanic work that is being done from the editorial office, to the printing press, through the other services of the regional management, Ms. Konaté fe
els her encouragement to the staff for their sacrifice.

‘The written press is very important in the media environment because the written word remains. It can be kept for years. It is for this reason that we saw fit to come and encourage the Sidwaya staff and express our satisfaction with the work accomplished,’ maintained the first female governor of Hauts-Bassins at the end of her visit.

She specified that the visit is part of a general program that she has undertaken since her installation to encourage all stakeholders in the Hauts Bassins region.

She added that this outing also aims to encourage women, especially since the month of March is dedicated to them.

Mariama Konaté took the opportunity to launch an appeal to all cultural actors and the population of Hauts Bassins to work together so that the next National Culture Week (SNC), 2024 edition, scheduled from April 27 to May 4, 2024, a success.

The Western regional director of Editions Sidwaya, Patinema Oumar Ouédraogo, fully appreciated this visi
t which comforts the staff.

‘The Sidwaya Bobo printing press has been operating for almost two years. The governor visited us. She took the pulse of the work and provided encouragement to the staff. This pleases us in more than one way in the sense that the regional authority attaches importance to our work. It is also a challenge to take up the challenges, including the coverage of the National Culture Week which will take place in a few weeks,’ said Mr. Ouédraogo.

The governor of Hauts-Bassins, also president of the special regional delegation, was accompanied by the first vice-president of the institution, Mahamadou Barry.

As a reminder, it was the Hauts-Bassins Regional Council which made the building housing the printing press available to the Western regional management of Editions Sidwaya.
