The Governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté, held on January 9, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso, an exchange meeting with men and women from the region’s media.

Media actors from the Hauts-Bassins region were in front of the first manager of the region, Mariama Konaté, during an exchange meeting organized by the governorate of the said region on Tuesday January 9, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.

According to the governor, the objective of the meeting is to make contact, to extend best wishes for the New Year and to seek the involvement and support of men and women in the region’s media.

‘If our actions have been recognized, it is thanks to you, the media,’ declared Mariama Konaté.

She also invited the heads of media outlets in the region to take an active part in the fight against terrorism.

To this end, the governor urged them to mobilize energies to win the communication war, but also to report on the development actions undertaken by the transitional authorities.

Media actors have submitted some concern
s which include, among other things, the invoicing of reports, the protection and support of media people.

Faced with these concerns, Ms. Konaté expressed her availability to support media actors.

According to him, the press is really important for the visibility and readability of actions.

The governor of Hauts-Bassins assured that efforts will be made to involve them more in the various activities.

‘We will continue thinking to see together how we can involve everyone in our activities, at the governorate level,’ she indicated.

However, Mariama Konaté stressed that the governorate has difficulties in communicating and mediating her activities.

‘We do not have a budget, it is a delegated appropriation for operations, but we have a small section which is linked to information. We are in the process of seeing how to sign agreements with the media,’ she informed.
