The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté, chaired the monthly raising of colors ceremony on January 9, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. She called on the active forces to work alongside the government, for the construction of a peaceful, stable and economically prosperous Burkina Faso.

For the first rise of the colors of the region for the year 2024, the active forces of the Hauts-Bassins have mobilized. The ceremony took place on Tuesday January 9, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, Mariama Konaté, paid tribute to all the fighting forces, the FDS and VDP currently engaged on the different fronts.

‘Their commitment (FDS and VDP, Editor’s note), their dedication and their combativeness are the very symbol of the resilience and resistance of our people,’ she noted.

For Ms. Konaté, 2023 will have been particularly trying for the country in general and particularly for our region, on several levels.

This difficult context, she underlined, demonstrates the need for the B
urkinabè to unite as one to overcome this adversity.

The governor of the Hauts-Bassins region remains convinced that this adversity will soon be overcome.

‘Our valiant populations have demonstrated courage, combativeness and resilience behind all the fighting forces so that at present we have good hope that this war imposed on us will soon be reduced to its simplest form. expression,’ said Ms. Konaté.

The first official of the region then invited the population to remain vigilant and united because, she added, the enemy will seek by all means to divide us and therefore to undermine the efforts to reconquer the territory and the recovery of the populations.

Despite this context, the region, in the opinion of Mariama Konaté, has made numerous achievements in the areas of education, health, the promotion of human rights, the employment of young people and women, agriculture, modernization of administration, security and road infrastructure.

The Governor invited the active forces to consolidate these gains a
lready made and to then make the absolute well-being of the populations of our towns and countryside the main focus.

She assured that the region will spare no effort to engage in this dynamic, in accordance with the aspirations of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
