Houet/Promotion of market gardening: Producers receive equipment


Ouagadougou: The Regional Development Agency (ARD), delivered agricultural equipment to cooperatives in the Hauts-Bassins region on Friday January 12, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. Costing nearly eight million CFA francs, this donation aims to support these producers, most of whom are in market gardening.

The market gardening activity of agricultural cooperatives in the Hauts-Bassins region will improve thanks to the support they have just received.

Indeed, they received agricultural equipment on Friday January 12, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso.

The equipment provided by the Regional Development Agency (ARD) consists of processing equipment, wheelbarrows, shovels, boxes of PVC glue and tricycles.

The beneficiaries are two agricultural cooperatives from the municipalities of Houndé and Toussiana in the Hauts-Bassins region.

The ARD acquired the equipment at a cost of eight million FCFA, thanks to the contribution of the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Hauts-Bassins Regional Council, as part of the implementati
on of its agriculture and sustainable development project.

It was the President of the special regional delegation of Hauts-Bassins, Mariama Konaté, who handed over the material to the beneficiaries.

For the director of the ARD, Dramane Ouattara, the donation is in line with strengthening the capacities of agricultural stakeholders with a view to improving their production.

The representative of the beneficiaries, Oula Charles Coulibaly, president of the Wenpea 1 cooperative in the commune of Toussiana, thanked the ARD for these various donations and promised to make good use of them.

‘This equipment will further strengthen our productivity and production capabilities. I am confident that thanks to this allocation, we will have good and better production in quantity and quality,’ said Oula Coulibaly.
