Hajj: Nearly two million pilgrims expected this Saturday at Mount Saint Arafat

Nearly two million pilgrims will gather on Saturday, Dhu al-Hijjah 9, (June 15, 2024) at the holy Mount of Arafat for a day of prayers and meditation as part of the Hajj rituals. The Saudi authorities insist on the need to have the Nususk card.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has called on the guests of the Most Merciful to prepare to gather at Mount Arafat, emphasizing the imperative of adhering to the set schedules to ensure that the rituals take place conveniently and smoothly .

The ministry indicated, in several publications on its social media accounts: ‘Guest of the Most Merciful. To avoid missing transportation, make sure you know departure times, be on time, and avoid crowds and gatherings,’ advising pilgrims to respect the organizers’ instructions and coordinate continuously with the group leader.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also noted that each Hajj must carry the ‘Nususk’ card, dedicated to regular pilgrims, noting that this is the only document approved to allow access to the sacred pla
ce of Arafat.

The security teams supervising the Hajj organization operation have intensified their campaigns to secure God’s guests and arrest offenders who do not hold a “Nusuk” card, by setting up an integrated system regarding equipment and preparations. , as well as strict procedures to ensure the comfort of pilgrims, and using intelligent applications that allow security services to detect offenders.

Other security and health measures were put in place, for the first time, by the competent Saudi authorities.

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched the ‘Nusuk’ card with the aim of streamlining the movement of regular pilgrims between Mecca and the Holy Places, facilitating their access to health services and allowing the competent authorities to identify the places of residence of pilgrims.

Saudi authorities noted that the Holy Places are ready to welcome the guests of the God during the 1445 AH Hajj season, specifying that the Holy Places Train is expected to carry more than two million passen

Modernized camps in Arafat have been set up and green spaces have been created to provide shade to reduce temperatures.

Pedestrian paths designed for seniors and people with special needs, as well as a path for golf carts, have also been created.

Mount Arafat, ‘Jabal ar-Ra?ma’ or ‘Mountain of Mercy, Arafah’ is a flat hill reaching approximately 30 meters in height.

Its summit can be reached by 91 steps, and in its middle there is a 4 meter high monument.

Arafat is located on the road between Mecca and Taif, approximately 15 kilometers east of Mecca, 10 kilometers from Mina and 6 kilometers from Mozdalifah, with an estimated area of ??4.10 square kilometers.
