The Non-Formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF) of sector 8 of Fada N’Gourma, organized an open day on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in the city of Yendabili.

The director of CEBNF, Louise Thiombiano, said that from its opening to the present day, its structure, which has 310 learners, 90% of whom are Internally Displaced Persons (IDP), has trained nearly a thousand young people and adolescents as well. in long-term permanent courses and in short-term modular training courses.

She listed the long-term courses taught in her establishment.

‘There are, among other things, 2-wheel mechanics, carpentry, welding, mixed sewing and the weaving of traditional loincloths.

Regarding short-term training, Ms. Thiombiano cited breeding, solar energy, making and laying paving stones, weaving and baking.

The director of CEBNF added that the center has just achieved a success rate of 73.33
% in the certification exam.

For the regional director in charge of Primary Education in the East, Yentéma David Thiombiano, it is time to give a privileged place to this center when we know that the current vision of the President of Faso is to give a skill to learners so that they are not a burden to their parents and to society once they leave school.

Yentéma David Thiombiano invited everyone to have another, mainly positive vision of CEBNFs which make learners promoters of employment, promote their autonomy and make them actors in the development of our country.

The director of the Center noted the difficulties that her structure is experiencing despite its rosy picture.

‘Among these difficulties we could mention the lack of fencing of the school grounds for the safety of learners and trainers, the lack of a store to secure the equipment, the insufficient room for practical work in cutting and sewing
, the insufficient work materials, the obsolescence of sewing machines and non-compliant equipment for mechanical apprenticeships,’ she added.

The regional director in charge of Primary Education urged all stakeholders to think within a period of time about innovation projects that will help the education and training center grow.

The Non-Formal Basic Education Center (CEBNF) of sector 8 of Fada N’Gourma, was created in 1995 whose main mission is literacy and training for young people and adolescents aged between 9 and 35 years old, for short-term training.
