The governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, officially launched the National Sports for All Week on Thursday June 20, 2024 in Fada N’Gourma.
It is with the practice of a popular cross which brought together the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the population, that the governor of the Eastern region, Ram Joseph Kafando, officially launched the national week of sport for all.
The activity will take place from June 18 to 24, 2024 in its administrative district.
According to the governor, this week, which is desired by the President of the Transition, aims to generalize the practice of physical sports and leisure activities in Burkina Faso.
He added that sport and leisure contribute to development and economic growth, health, social cohesion, the promotion of peace and the resilience of populations in the face of terrorism.
Ram Joseph Kafando also indicated that inactivity and a sedentary lifestyle cause us many diseases such as hypertension, obesity and diabetes.
So, he invited everyone to
practice physical activities and leisure activities to improve our physical and mental well-being, national cohesion which will help boost the national economy.
‘We should not wait for a medical prescription to practice sport. Once you practice sport for even 30 minutes a day, the body releases a lot of impurities. This practice allows us to clear our minds of all the stress we have at work, as a family,’ said the director of the National Institute for Training of Education Personnel in the East, Yacouba Tchiombiano.
The director of the municipal police of Fada N’Gourma, Issiaka Togugyéni, hoped that the authorities would perpetuate the practice of sport because according to him, the practice of sport is good for the body.
