Gourma/Ramadan: The faithful implore health, the return of peace

The Muslim faithful celebrated the end of the thirty (30) days of penance this Thursday, April 10 at the Martyrs’ Square in Fada N’Gourma.

Like other cities in Burkina Faso, the city of Yendabili celebrated the end of thirty (30) days of deprivation to implore God.

At the Place des Martyrs, during the great prayer, Imam El-hadj Aboubacar Kina in his sermon gave thanks to the Lord who allowed the Muslim community to unanimously celebrate today the feast of Aid-El- Fitr.

He wished peace, security in Burkina Faso and health in different homes.

To the president of the transition Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkinabe government and local authorities, the imam wished them long life and implored that God help them.

The Secretary General of the Eastern Region Siaka Ouattara expressed his gratitude to the religious communities who came to reinforce the brilliance of this celebration.

To the brave people of the Eastern region, Mr. Ouattara sent a message of solidarity, living together and social cohesion.

He in
vited these populations to collaborate with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the security auxiliaries (VDP) to be able to overcome this unprecedented security crisis.

As such, he hoped: ‘Next year at this time, that the cities which are in the hands of terrorists will be recovered.’

Father Pascal Soubeiga, on behalf of the Catholic community, accompanied by brothers and sisters, came to show their support and solidarity.

‘God listens to his people when the people begin together to pray and ask him for graces’ is the message tinged with solidarity and unity from Father Soubeiga to the Muslim community.
