Ouagadougou: Several hundred people offered sacrifices to the sacred Boulgou hill on Friday to ask for favors, as is done every year.

In the commune of Garango there is a chain of three hills revered by the populations of the area, notably the Bissas. The most imposing is Boulgou, which gave its name to the province.

The Boulgou sacrifices, called ‘Boulgou Balè’ in the Bissa language, take place every year under the control of His Majesty Naaba Koom, chief of Garango.

This hill is said to have supernatural powers capable of granting the wishes of those who perform sacrifices of chicken, goat, sheep, donkey, ox and camel there.

This year, the sacrifices took place on Friday July 19, 2024.

Naaba Koom formulated the ultimate wish: the return of peace to Burkina Faso, health, and a good winter season.

Visitors came from all over to ask for health, prosperity and the grace of motherhood.

Among them, Jean Luc Kaboré, who came from Réo, came to give thanks to Mount Boulgou for its benefits in his life.
