The Zorgho health district organized an official visit to present a large batch of medical-technical equipment received thanks to the Health Services Strengthening Program (PRSS).

It was Monday June 3, 2024 under the chairmanship of the District Chief Medical Officer (MCD), Dr Delphin Kaboré, and in the presence of leading personalities including the president of the special delegation of the commune of Zorgho, Valentin Badolo as well as military and paramilitary authorities and leaders of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

The lot of equipment received includes: 100 delivery tables, 100 two-step ladders, 80 adjustable stools on casters, 85 hospital beds, 26 examination tables and 26 medical thermometers.

Dr Delphin Kaboré underlined the importance of this material for the district’s health facilities. ‘We are going to distribute this material to the different health structures in the province.

This is a huge relief because some training facilities were seriously lacking in good delivery tables, which po
sed risks for deliveries. Thanks to this donation, we will be able to offer better quality care to our populations,’ he said.

The Zorgho health district is one of three districts in the Central Plateau region, covering the province of Ganzourgou. It has 73 public and 14 functional private health facilities for a population of more than 500,000 inhabitants.

The High Commissioner, Ms. Aminata Sorgho/Gouba, expressed her satisfaction. According to her, this medical-technical equipment responds to an urgent need and relieves the material difficulties of health facilities in the province. She thanked the government and its partners for this initiative and appealed to health structures to properly maintain this equipment.

The provincial women’s coordinator of Ganzourgou, Kayaba Odette Kaboré, shared her joy: ‘My heart was filled with joy when I saw this material. This will greatly facilitate deliveries and the work of health workers.’

She thanked the donors for this life-saving gesture.
