Manchester United conceded a draw on the pitch of Fenerbahçe (1-1), Thursday during the 3rd day of the Europa League, in a match where the coach of the Turkish club José Mourinho was sent off. The Mancunians, who have chained a third draw in as many matches in the competition, had however opened the scoring thanks to Christian Eriksen (15th), who came to find the top corner of Livakovic. But the Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri brought the Turks back to level after the locker room (49th).

After a contentious situation in the Red Devils’ area and a penalty claimed by Fenerbahçe, the Istanbul club’s coach José Mourinho was sent off by French referee Clément Turpin (58th).

“I congratulate him, his peripheral vision is incredible. During a game at 100 miles an hour, he had one eye on the action in the box and another on my behavior on the bench. That’s why he is one of the best referees in the world,” he joked after the match.

The former Manchester United coach (2016-2018) followed the end of the mat
ch from the stands.
