Ouagadougou: ECOWAS on Tuesday congratulated Bassirou Faye on his election as head of Senegal, hoping to work with him for the best of the country.
‘Excellence Mr. President,
On behalf of the ECOWAS institutions, I have the honor to express my sincere congratulations to you on your election to the high office of President of the Republic of Senegal.
I also salute the Senegalese people and the republican institutions for the serenity and maturity in which the election was held, deemed free, transparent and peaceful.
In light of your various declarations, I am convinced that you will be able to promote reconciliation and inclusion and that you will be the president of the entire Senegalese nation, including those who belong to different political groups.
For my part, I wish to assure you, Excellency Mr. President, of ECOWAS’ commitment to working with you in the best interest of Senegal, the ECOWAS region and Africa as a whole.
