_: The populations of the town of Djibo came out in large numbers on Tuesday to support the Transition and its president Captain Ibrahim Traoré, it was noted.

After several postponements due to lack of authorization due to the difficult security situation, the populations of Djibo were determined to organize their support march like other localities in the country.

Finally, it was in the middle of the week, with authorization in hand, that the organizers passed on the information for the march to actually take place today.

So, this morning from 7 am, from all four sides of the city, men, women and children were already converging towards the gathering place defined for this purpose since the authorization was obtained.

At 8 am, the customs area, which is a crossroads between the national roads linking Ouahigouya-Djibo-Dori and that of Baraboulé, refused to accommodate people.

Everywhere in all the streets, people were running to avoid being told the story. The atmosphere was at its peak. Several young pe
ople brought musical devices with large speakers and from a distance, we could hear local varieties thundering, and on the other hand, the clamor rose louder with ‘Ibrahim TRAORE!’ Ibrahim TRAORE! » or even ‘long live IB!’ Long live IB, long live the transition! Long live our FDs and our VDPs! »

At 8:30 am, the head of the march started for the High Commission where the marches should be received by the administrative authorities.

A huge crowd had just started the march and was chanting slogans of support for the transition. The drop-off point being no more than 800 m from the place of departure, the first, the head arrived at the door of the High Commission while the tail had not moved that much, the entire road was occupied with people.

They were accompanied by religious and customary leaders who, despite their age for some, wanted to be there.

Given the strong mobilization, the High Commission compound could not contain the people and the decision was taken to receive the resource people inside and the
majority of the marches at the door for the reading and delivery of the declaration. by the organizers.

The message was read by Amadou Adama for the organizers and given to MA Sidiki TAMBOURA 1st vice PDS representing the city authorities.

Although the march’s primary objective was to support the transition, nevertheless some grievances were made by the marches including the appointment of a High Commissioner of Soum, the supply of the city by a land convoy as well as the creation of conditions to keep young people busy .

For the 1st vice PDS, for the walkers ‘it is an immense joy and pride to see that despite the difficult conditions of the inhabitants of Djibo, that such a mobilization can take place. I thank this valiant youth as well as the customary and religious people who made the trip. I hereby undertake to transmit the document to those concerned for due diligence.’

Two other speeches punctuated the ceremony; that of Absatou HAMIDOU president of the Provincial Coordination of Women and that of TA
MBOURA Bouboukay village chief of Djibo. Both thanked the marches, and offered blessings for the FDS and VDP as well as for the transition and its first leaders.

The initiative to contribute was born on site, and despite the difficult economic situation of households, an amount of 135,000 FCFA was collected for the Patriotic Support Fund.

It was with satisfaction that everyone returned to their homes because Djibo did not want to be outdone in supporting the Transition which, for several months, has been doing remarkable work in terms of securing and reconquering the national territory.
