The High Commissioner of the Tuy province, Issiaka Segda, launched, on Thursday March 14, 2024 in Houndé, the activities as part of the delayed celebration of the 167th International Human Rights Day. women in the province. These activities began with training in saponification for the benefit of 200 women from Tuy.
It was through training in saponification that the commemorative activities of the 167th International Women’s Rights Day, celebrated in a delayed manner in the province of Tuy, began.
The starting point for this training was given on Thursday March 14, 2024 in Houndé by the high commissioner of the Tuy province, Issiaka Segda.
For four days, 200 women from the Tuy province learned to make soap (Kabakourou, laundry soap, liquid soap).
The objective of this training, according to its initiators, is to increase the economic empowerment of the other half of the sky.
Issiaka Segda indicated that the commemoration of March 8 is an opportunity for all stakeholders to reflect on a theme of national
concern in relation to the status and living conditions of women, to take stock strategies implemented and to propose innovative actions.
For the 167th International Women’s Rights Day, Burkina Faso chose to reflect on the “Promotion of community entrepreneurship: what contribution do women make?” “.
According to the representative of the provincial coordinator of women’s organizations in Tuy, Oho Elisabeth Dabiré, in addition to training in saponification, several other activities are planned until today, March 22, 2024, to mark this commemoration with a white stone.
She cited in particular a sanitation day, a delivery of donations to IDPs and vulnerable host populations, a conference on the theme of March 8 and a courtesy visit to inmates of the Boromo Detention and Correction Center followed by a donation collection.
Furthermore, Ms. Dabiré thanked the goodwill which contributed to the realization of this commemoration.
