Collective breaking of the fast at Bogandé town hall

Bogandé: The Amazon of Gnagna, Bikienga Alice/Lankoandé, organized a collective breaking of the fast within the town hall of Bogandé on the evening of Saturday April 6, 2024. The constituted bodies of the province and all religious denominations took part in this evening of communion.

For a first, the religious people of the town of Bogandé broke their fast collectively. On the 27th day of the month of penitence, the amazon of the province of Gnagna, Bikienga Alice Lankoandé invited the Muslim faithful, community and religious leaders to collectively break the fast on this evening of Saturday April 6, 2024. This is the courtyard of Bogandé town hall which served as the setting for this moment of communion.

On occasion, staff from different provincial directorates and services, religious people of all faiths and customary people all took part in this evening of sharing.

Very happy, the president of the Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions (FEME) of Gnagna, Pastor Alassane Taboudou, indicated that
the holy scriptures exhort to love one’s neighbor. ‘Beyond words, we must demonstrate our love through actions,’ he said.

Same story, Father Mathieu Ouoba, priest of the Saint André de Bogandé parish, welcomed the initiative. For him, such initiatives contribute to the strengthening and consolidation of inter-religious dialogue.

The initiator Bikienga Alice/Lankoandé expressed her gratitude to all her guests. She urged all community leaders to show solidarity and social cohesion, a guarantee of peace. Then, she invited the participants to support the administrative and security authorities of all administrative entities in prayer.

The imam of the great mosque of Bogandé, El hadji Seydou Mano, while welcoming the initiative, hoped that such initiatives would increase further in order to strengthen the links between the different communities for lasting peace in Faso.

The Amazon is a name given to certain women leaders who work to promote peace in Burkina.

In Burkina there are 58 women who bear the name of
Amazon for Peace.
