CAN2023: the Palancas Negras dominate the Stallions and retain their first place

The Palancas Negras of Angola beat the Etalons of Burkina Faso on Tuesday evening at the Charles Konan Bany stadium in Yamoussoukro by 2 goals to 0, counting for the 3rd match in Group D of the CAN and maintain their position as leader of the group, we noted on site.

The Stallions started the match calmly and then engaged tactically with the Palancas Negras. Lots of technical waste in terms of finishing.

The first acceleration of the alley player Issa Kaboré, launched by Aziz Ki in the 25th minute, did not find the net. His shot went over the crossbar.

Against the flow of play, the Angolans opened the scoring with Cristovao Pacienca’s header, following a well-hit free kick (35th). After the break the Stallions are forced to play the game, except that they do not do it carefully.

Cédric Badolo is replaced by Cheick Djibril Ouattara (45th). The tactically disciplined Angolans are in place. They place dangerous counterattacks for Burkina.

Dango Ouattara physically limited, stumbles on the Angolan goalkeepe
r (56th). Ambrozini Antonio Cabaça Salvador scores the 2nd Angolan goal (90+4) and knocks out the already exhausted Stallions. No cross, nor a shot on target from the member of Bournemouth (England).

After this defeat, the Stallions finished 2nd in group D and will have to meet in Khorogo, the first of group E, either South Africa or Mali on January 30.

In the same group, Mauritania achieved the feat of beating Algeria (1-0) and qualified for the second, eliminating the Fennecs at the same time.
