According to the survey report on employment and the informal sector (EESI3) of Cameroon, a worker in the local informal sector earns on average 83,409 FCFA per month. Incomes range from 59,520 FCFA in rural areas to 96,367 FCFA in urban areas. An hour of work in the informal sector pays on average 669 FCFA, and the average monthly income of bosses is 181,200 FCFA, almost double that of those who work on their own account (93,500 FCFA).
