A delegation of Burkinabe media executives visited TV Zone, a state-owned company dedicated to the production of media content, particularly videos, on Monday in Changsha, capital of southern China’s Hunan province.
Located in Malanshan Video Creation Industrial Park in northeast Shangsha, TV Zone produces shows, videos and TV series that it sells to media outlets.
“We only work on content that we resell to others,” explained one of the company’s managers, Zhang Lin, director of the company’s administration office.
The company co-organizes with other media and other companies shows on Orange Island and broadcasts at its headquarters, in a vast hall of 2000m2. It also works with the University of Commerce of Haikou, Heina province in a win-win partnership.
TV Zone was established in 2007 and has been listed on the stock exchange since 2017, according to its managers. It belongs to the Hunan Broadcasting System television and radio group and is therefore managed by the Hunan provincial government. At the e
nd of the visit, the Burkinabe delegation said it was inspired by this Chinese experience.
“I took photos and I hope to be able to reproduce what I saw, except for the building of course, which is very imposing,” said Bassératou Kindo, publishing director of the online media, Mousso News, after the visit.
“I appreciated the environment and the working framework of the media, the logistical means to do the work of producing digital content. We feel that they are at the forefront of new technologies in terms of emerging media.
“I am pleasantly surprised to have seen that so many material and logistical resources injected have been for journalistic work. I am also happy to have learned a certain number of things that could be useful to me in my work,” declared Kassilé Traoré, editor-in-chief in the national language of Burkina Info.
The Burkinabe delegation, composed of 28 members, is taking part in a training seminar which will run from October 11 to 31 in the province of Hunan.
