the high commissioner of the province of Yagha Adama Kousoubé met with the constituted bodies of his province this October 17, 2024 in Dori to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year at the primary, post-primary and secondary levels.

The two parties took stock of the results of the 2023-2024 school year before discussing the prospects for the start of the 2024-2025 school year. The High Commissioner particularly thanked the teachers for the efforts made for the good results of the 2023-2024 school year, despite the security situation in the locality.

The first provincial official also praised the remarkable work of the FDS and VDP of Sebba. Credit also went to the two provincial directors in charge of education and the entire chain of the field, who spared no effort to support the staff in this very difficult period. “It is not easy, but the general interest of our children and the entire nation must count,” he said.

The outlook was about the difficult access to Sebba for the return of education stakeholder
s. At this point, the direct stakeholders, the teachers, explained the ordeal they experienced last year.

In both secondary and primary schools, working conditions have not lived up to expectations. The warning shots fired by the FDS and attempts to attack the towns of Sebba and Solhan have been very frequent. Working in such conditions does not make life easy for either teachers or students. Everyone was able to say what they had in their hearts. The top education officials made promises and reassured them of the authorities’ availability to support them until the holidays.

In the miscellaneous, the head of Canton of Yagha Mr. Boureima Amirou Ly recognized the efforts of all the actors of the province and reassured that all, have the blessing of the traditional and religious leaders of the province. The other heads of service and projects congratulated the education personnel, and also provided some information from their field.

It is with a note of satisfaction that High Commissioner Adama Koussoubé once
again congratulated all the constituted bodies of his province. Each education actor is asked to prepare to return to his post. Measures are being taken for seamless support.
