Ouagadougou: The Commission on Information Technology and Liberties (CIL) on Wednesday reminded Internet users to respect human dignity and privacy in the use of information and communication technologies. (TIC).

‘Towards Internet users, the CIL will never cease to remind them that the use of information and communication technologies must be at the service of each citizen and must not harm either human dignity or privacy,’ said Wednesday the president of the Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CIL), Dr Halguièta Nassa/Trawina

It is in this sense that the CIL organizes awareness-raising activities on the sidelines of the national day for the protection of personal data, celebrated every March 30, she explained.

Dr Nassa was speaking in Ouagadougou, during an awareness seminar aimed at decentralized administrative authorities of public administration.

Among the participants in this seminar, we note the presence of regional governors, high commissioners and prefects.

According to Dr Halgui
èta Nassa/Trawina, it is important to equip them so that they can act as relays for the CIL in their regions.

The governor of the Center region, Abdoulaye Bassinga, affirmed that new risks linked to the protection of privacy have emerged due to the constant growth of numerous digital platforms, aimed at the dematerialization of administrative procedures.

‘As a result, it is all the most essential that you, administrative authorities, are able to understand and measure the real and evolving issues linked to the fight against cybercrime, the protection of personal data and privacy,’ said added Mr. Bassinga to his colleagues.
