The National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, organized from October 2 to 16, 2024, ‘have kept all their promises,’ said government spokesperson Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo on Friday, following a hot assessment of the event with several members of the government, at the home of Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélem of Tambèla.
“We were received by the Prime Minister for a hot assessment of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment. This was an opportunity to review all the actions that were carried out on the ground as part of the patriotic surge and, above all, to magnify the vision and ideal of Captain Thomas Sankara,” said the government spokesperson, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
During the working session, several ministerial departments briefed the head of government on the actions carried out at their level and, “overall and in the heat of the moment”, it was noted “that the second half of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation kept all its
promises”, continued Minister of State Ouédraogo.
“We felt a sense of support and, above all, commitment at all levels, whether at the level of ministerial departments, at the decentralized level with the various territorial constituencies, but also within civil society,” he stressed.
The Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, was accompanied by several of his colleagues, including the Ministers in charge of Administration Émile Zerbo, of the Environment Roger Baro, of Sports Roland Somda, and the Minister Delegate in charge of Cooperation Stella Eldine Kabré.
He specified that the immediate assessment was “quite satisfactory” and that the Prime Minister had given instructions for them to make “an overall assessment of all the actions carried out, together with recommendations (…) for an even more impactful celebration of these Days in 2025”.
