Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè government and its partners want to rehabilitate the Bobo-Banfora-Ivory Coast border and Banfora-Orodara roads to the tune of more than 152 billion FCFA to facilitate regional trade, economic exchanges and the sale of agro-sylvo-pastoral products.
‘The overall cost of the project is 232.84 million euros, or 152 billion 735 million 633 thousand 805 CFA francs. This project is financed by the Burkinabè State to the tune of 2 billion 836 million 803 CFA francs, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB),’ indicates the report of the Council of Ministers this Wednesday. June 26, 2024.
The same source continues that the said project will also strengthen cultural exchanges and social cohesion at the national and sub-regional level.
The government authorized this agreement to finance the project while awaiting the discharge of the Transitional Legislative Assembly.
