Students from the Tougan provincial high school responded to the call of the governor of the Boucle du Mouhoun region by planting trees in the schoolyard to mark their patriotic commitment and civic participation, AIB noted.

On this occasion, around a hundred plants composed of neems, baobabs, etc. were planted.

This reforestation activity began at 7:30 a.m. in the high school grounds, with a raising of colors, chaired by the headmaster of the provincial high school Abdoulaye Touze Zina, under the theme, “For a strong and sovereign nation, let us not betray our homeland.”

The Chief Education Advisor (CPE), Issouf Yaméogo also took this opportunity to inform the students of the message from the highest authorities in the country, relating to reforestation activities, the rise of colors and their participation in the fight against insecurity.

The principal, Abdoulaye Touze Zina, for his part, briefly presented the history of the provincial high school of Tougan, recalling the various results achieved by hi
s establishment over the last three years. According to him, these results have contributed to placing the province of Sourou first in the region in the BEPC and second in the baccalaureate, over the last two years despite the security context prevailing in the province.

He also urged the students to maintain this course of excellence because “it is in this that we will together build a strong and sovereign nation without betrayal”, as stipulated in the theme.
