Ouagadougou: The Burkina Infrastructure Works Agency (AGETIB), in partnership with the Ministry in charge of Infrastructure, celebrated its ISO 9001 version 2015 certification on Tuesday in terms of quality management, in order to further deserve the trust of its partners involved in public works.

‘The Burkina Infrastructure Works Agency (AGETIB) honored our department by becoming the first ministry structure certified ISO 9001, version 2015,’ declared the Minister of Infrastructure and Opening Up, Adama Luc Sorgho.

According to him, the agency becomes the youngest state company and the first public delegated project owner in the country to receive this recognition, which will allow it to further deserve the trust of its partners in the field of public works.

Minister Sorgho spoke on Tuesday in Ouagadougou during an official presentation ceremony of AGETIB’s certification to the ISO 9001 version 2015 standard, under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Dr Apollinaire Joachimsom Kyélem de Tambèla.

He also

‘Its creation was motivated by the government’s desire to promote an increase in the credit absorption capacity of contracting authorities, the speed of the acquisition process, and the relief of congestion in the central, decentralized and decentralized administration,’ supported Adama Luc Sorgho.

According to him, the certificate is proof of an assurance offered to technical and financial partners regarding the quality, rigor and professionalism of AGETIB.

Mr. Sorgho also underlined that this recognition allows the agency to join the restricted circle of modern and efficient organizations whose management complies with international standards.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, he assured AGETIB of his support in his various missions.

The minister invited the National Laboratory of Buildings and Public Works (LNBTP), the National Public Wor
ks Training School (ENTP), the Special Road Fund of Burkina (FSR-B) and the Geographical Institute of Burkina (IGB) to follow the example of this sister structure.

The Director General (DG) of AGETIB, Mathieu Lompo, welcomed the government’s constant commitment to making its structure a benchmark state company contributing to the internal and external opening of Burkina.

‘Our ambition is to be a benchmark delegated project management agency by 2028, offering complete satisfaction to our clients and interested parties,’ he added.

For Mr. Lompo, AGETIB has been engaged for several years in a quality approach aimed at effectively and efficiently managing the projects entrusted to it, and improving economic and financial performance.

According to him, this approach takes into account the provisions of the code of good practices, state company governance and the competitive environment, marked by increasing demands to satisfy customer needs and comply with regulations and standards.

CEO Mathieu Lompo indicate
