Burkina: Minister Sorgho visits two bridges built at a cost of 700 million FCFA in Koudougou


Ouagadougou: The Minister of Infrastructure and Opening Up, Adama Luc Sorgho, visited yesterday Tuesday, two bridges built at a cost of 700 million FCFA, in the urban commune of Koudougou (Central-West), as part of the Development Program. emergency of territorial development and resilience (PUDTR).

The first head of the Department of Infrastructure and Opening Up, Adama Luc Sorgho, took advantage of his outing on the Sakoinsé-Koudougou national road on Tuesday February 20, 2024, with a view to observing the progress of the resumption of work, to visit the Sisséné bridge and that of Koné, in the urban commune of Koudougou.

These two crossing works, carried out to the tune of 700 million FCFA, as part of the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Program (PUDTR), record an execution rate of 100% and a time consumption of 82%.

‘We made this trip to actually see first-hand what was carried out on the ground because these are projects that we ordered and wanted them to finish before the start of the
rainy season,’ said specified Minister Sorgho.

According to him, the work was carried out on schedule and he congratulated the BTM company which did an exceptional job and the ministry in charge of the economy through the PUDTR, which financed the project to the great happiness of the populations. .

‘In his time, it was very difficult to access these communes in the rainy season, because it was a write-off,’ he continued.

According to the director general of the Burkina infrastructure works agency (AGETIB), Mathieu Lompo, around ten bridges will be built in the Center-West region.

‘There are regions that have been waiting for these works for 10 years,’ said Mr. Lompo.

The regional director in charge of Central West Infrastructure, Elie Kaboré, said he was satisfied with the construction of the bridge given that it was replaced by an old one, which had become dangerous for the populations during the rainy season.

‘We followed the work with the control mission to ensure the quality of the work,’ he mainta
ined.

According to Elie Kaboré, the crossing problem observed on this departmental road has been resolved with these two structures and all that remains is perhaps their maintenance.

Of the 36 works planned nationally, 21 have been completed and 15 in progress, intended to connect or rehabilitate 500 km of road in Burkina Faso.

Note that the PDUTR will help serve 650,000 inhabitants in the Centre-West, Centre-East, Centre-South, North and Boucle du Mouhoun regions.
