More than 200 young people from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are expected at the first summer university of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) scheduled for September 25 to 27, 2024 in Ziniaré, 25 km northeast of Ouagadougou.
The first AES summer university is organized by the Circle of Actions for Economic and Social Development of Burkina Faso (CADES-BF) and will be held under the theme: “the imperative commitment of youth for a real reconstruction of the AES”, according to a document consulted Wednesday by AIB.
According to the same source, more than 200 young people will participate in the meeting from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.
This important event in the AES space is chaired by the ministers in charge of youth of the AES countries, including Anûuyirtole Roland Somda, Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment of Burkina Faso and Abdoul Kassim Fomba, Minister of Youth and Sports in charge of Civic Education and Citizenship Construction of Mali and under the sponsorship of the general directors of th
e structures in charge of volunteering of the AES countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, was chosen as guest of honor.
Participants in this AES youth meeting will be entitled to several panels and communications.
The Secretary General of the Presidency of Faso, Dr. Zakaria Soré, will entertain participants under the theme of “Endogenous development of AES countries: responsibilities and modalities of youth engagement.”
The general directors of the structures in charge of volunteering will also have a meeting with the youth, considered by the heads of the AES countries as the spearhead of the real reconstruction of these States.
In this capacity, the Director General of the National Volunteer Program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB), Djourmité Nestor Noufé and his counterparts from Mali and Niger will have a time of constructive exchanges with the youth of the AES under the theme: “volunteering as a tool for endogenous development of th
e AES countries”.
