Burkina: FESPACO will be held from February 22 to March 1, 2025, the Republic of Chad, guest country of honor


Ouagadougou: The 29th edition of the Ouagadougou Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival (FESPACO) will be held from February 22 to March 1, 2025 with the Republic of Chad as guest country of honor.

The Minister of State, in charge of culture, made a communication to the Council relating to the holding of the 29th edition of the Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).

This edition, scheduled from February 22 to March 1, 2025, has the guest country of honor, the Republic of Chad, indicated the report of the Council of Ministers this Wednesday.

The same report adds that the official launch of the call for film submissions is scheduled for February 29, 2024.

‘On the sidelines of FESPACO, the 22nd International African Cinema and Audiovisual Market (MICA) and the Yennega workshops will be held,’ specifies the council of ministers.

According to the said report, the ambition of these workshops is to strengthen the role of the festival as a gateway supporting the emergence of new
talents in the main value chains of the film industry, financing and finalization of film projects of the continent to make them more competitive and visible on the international market.
