Ouagadougou, The general director of the non-governmental organization educo, Pilar Orenes, indicated Friday in Ouagadougou that education is important and is a foundation that should allow the child to develop.
“We believe that education is important and it is a basis for allowing the child to develop,” said the general director of the NGO educo, Pilar Orenes, in Ouagadougou on Friday October 13, 2023.
She therefore called for the protection of children in the Sahel countries, especially in this difficult humanitarian context.
The general director of the NGO educo, Pilar Orenes, spoke on Friday in Ouagadougou after leaving an audience with the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Me Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambela.
“We brought to the attention of His Excellency that as a humanitarian organization we need space and connection with government and technical services. And we received an attentive ear regarding this given that we work in a rather difficult humanitarian context,” pleaded Ms. Orenes.
For her, this visit is also part of a regional tour in the Sahel.
“Also, we heard very favorably about the fact that educo could establish itself more directly in the country through the status of a public utility organization,” she said.
She stressed that the Prime Minister authorized them to begin discussions with the government on the subject.
