Ouagadougou: The Agence universitaire de la francophonie (AUF) in partnership with the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES) initiated on Friday in Ouagadougou, a 3-day training workshop to strengthen the skills of around thirty doctoral students on scientific publication.

Around thirty doctoral students from different universities in Burkina Faso, all sectors combined, will benefit for three days from a training workshop on scientific publication, organized by the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).

According to the director of the AUF, Théophile Ouangrawa, this training aims to strengthen learners’ skills in scientific publication.

For Mr. Ouangrawa, it also aims to provide doctoral students with the best tools to develop and promote a scientific article, while respecting high-level academic standards.

According to him, it is an international system for preparing and supporting scientific publication set up by the AUF in partnership with CAMES, which seeks to develop a glo
bal pool of young researchers publishing in French.

The training workshop was provided by Professor Yvone Bonzi and Doctor Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

For trainer Dr Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the workshop focused on three modules, namely the methodology of scientific research, the methodology of scientific writing and the procedures for scientific publication and promotion linked to artificial intelligence (AI).

According to Dr Ouédraogo, learners are now able to correct the errors they had when writing their scientific publication and to propose texts that meet scientific requirements.

Doctoral student Nadège Tibri said she was satisfied with the quality of the training.

She said she now has the knowledge to write a quality scientific article. This will allow him to promote the results of his research.

At the end of the workshop, participants were invited to apply for the Francophonie Summer University by submitting a complete article respecting pre-established standards.

The winners of the two best selected articl
es will be accompanied by experts to improve their article and will be invited to participate in the Francophonie Summer University which will take place in Morocco at the end of the year.

On this occasion, they will be able to compete to have their article selected and then published in one of the partner journals.
