Ouagadougou: The population of Kouka, 42km from Solenzo, in the province of Banwa, mobilized 3 million FCFA and donations for the benefit of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, as a contribution to the peace effort, noted the AIB on Friday on site.

Gathered this Friday evening in the courtyard of the town hall and around the president of the special delegation, the population of Kouka offered quantities of food and fuel worth nearly 3 million for the benefit of the local VDPs.

The donation consists in particular of rice, spaghetti, cans of oil, cans of tomatoes and salt, all worth 1.96 million FCFA to which is added fuel worth one million FCFA.

‘Kouka was about to leave but thanks to the VDP and the FDS, we are there in peace. It is our children who watch over us and we must each time support them for their courage and their sacrifice, while imploring God and the spirits of the ancestors of Kouka to watch over them,’ affirmed the representative of the customary people of Kouka.

The president o
f the village development council of Kouka, Boromassoro Sanou, recalled before the representative of the High Commissioner, Jules Kabore before the representative of the special delegation, Raymond Ilboudo, how the population was ready and committed to the VDP and the forces of security and defense.

‘We have also provided motorbikes for them, so that the security work can work as we wish,’ he added.

The delivery of donations and the presentation of the receipt for the contribution to the patriotic support fund took place in the presence of the authorities of Banwa and the neighboring commune of Balave.

‘This gesture galvanizes us to redouble our efforts. Seeing that the population, in total cohesion, is behind us pushes us to do the work better, especially with the blessing of the old people of the village of Kouka,’ argued a representative of the VDP.

Localities in the Banwa province experienced terrorist attacks before the fighting forces imposed their supremacy to bring significant tranquility to this
area.
