AES countries will create a commission to boost their economic, political and cultural cooperation


Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger will create a tripartite commission to boost their cooperation in economic, political and cultural matters, the AIB learned from an official source on Wednesday in Ouagadougou.

High-level delegations from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, present in Niamey from December 29 to 31, 2023 for a friendship and work meeting, ‘were able to decide to meet regularly around a tripartite Commission in order to better promote cooperation for economic, cultural and political integration of the three countries,’ reported the Secretary General of the Burkinabe government this afternoon, in the Council of Ministers.

This tripartite commission will see the light of day ‘as soon as possible’, indicates the report of the Council of Ministers of Wednesday January 11, 2024.

The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso, Apollinaire Joachimson Kyelem de Tambèla and his counterparts from Mali and Niger exchanged during this friendship and working visit with General Abdourahamane Tiani, Head of State of Niger, on t
he challenges of the Sahel.

In the opinion of the Burkina Faso delegation returning from Niamey, the Nigerien President, Abdourahamane Tiani, within the framework of the Alliance of Sahel States, ‘is determined in the fight against imperialism in all its forms, to the emancipation of Nigeriens.

Dr Kyelem notably declared from Niamey that the next constitution of Burkina Faso will be ‘totally detached from the French format’

The Alliance of Sahel States, established in September 2023 between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, marks an important turning point in cooperation between its three countries which have decided to pool their energies and their strategies, in order to face the imperialist and terrorist forces and to defend the sovereignty and right to development of the Sahel.
