A private electricity producer discusses an ‘ambitious’ project with the Minister in charge of Energy


Ouagadougou: Qair international, a private producer of renewable energy, presented this Friday to the Minister in charge of Energy, Yacouba Zabré Gouba, raising the possibility of a future ‘ambitious’ project with Burkina Faso, the AIB learned from an official source.

The head of delegation and Sub-Saharan Africa director of Qair International, Marc Galiner, took stock of the group’s activities in Burkina Faso to the Minister in charge of Energy, Yacouba Zabré Gouba and also spoke of more important future projects, according to the communications department of the Burkinabe Ministry of Energy, Mines and Quarries.

‘We also discussed a more ambitious project to go further together, namely energy storage. Together we will reflect with a view to finding a common strategy to further strengthen this partnership which has worked extremely well,’ declared Mr. Galinier upon leaving the audience, quoted by the same source.

Qair international, on the basis of a partnership, has just commissioned a 24 MW power plant i
n the Center-East region and is preparing ‘in a few weeks’ to launch a second 18 MW solar power plant in Dédougou.

‘His excellent work re-signified to us his desire for our Dédougou project to start as quickly as possible’ confided Marc Galiner.

In addition to Burkina, the Qair international group is present in Chad and Tunisia.
