The MiG-31 prevented two United States Air Force B-1B strategic bombers from violating the Russian border over the Barents Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.
‘On March 24, Russian airspace control assets over the Barents Sea detected a grouped air target approaching Russia’s border. To identify this air target and prevent the violation of the Russian border, a MiG-31 fighter of the air defense forces was launched into the air. The Russian fighter crew identified the aerial target as two United States Air Force B-1B strategic bombers,’ the statement said.
