2 ships with Russian wheat will arrive in Somalia and Burkina Faso in November-December

MOSCOW, The first two ships loaded with 50,000 tons of Russian wheat will arrive in Somalia and Burkina Faso at the end of November-beginning of December this year. This was announced to journalists by Dmitry Patrushev, the Russian Minister of Agriculture, during his visit to the agricultural exhibition as part of the Russia international fair.

“The government has taken all the necessary decisions to make the deliveries. The first two ships, 25,000 tons each, heading to Somalia and Burkina Faso have already left Russian ports, and we expect their arrival at their destination at the end of November-beginning of December this year,” said Mr. Patrushev.

Mr. Patrushev also added that ships bound for the Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Mali and Eritrea will be loaded with wheat in the near future and shipped to these countries by the end of the year.

In September, Russia’s agriculture minister told reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum that Russian grain donations to Africa should begin soon.
